Shri Adhyatma Ramayana (Adhyatma Ramayana in English) is not a new book, about which anything special needs to be said. This most sacred saga was narrated by Lord Shiva Shankar to Adishakti Mata Parvati. Adhyatma Ramayana is considered under the northern section of Brahmanda Purana. Therefore, Maharishi Vedvyasji is considered the author of Adhyatma Ramayana.

In Adhyatma Ramayana, (Adhyatma Ramayana in English) while narrating Paramarsayan Ramcharita, divine teachings related to devotion, knowledge, worship, ethics and conduct have been given by highlighting the context in each verse. Despite the description of various subjects, the supremacy in it is the discussion of spirituality. That is why it is called ‘Adhyatma Ramayana’. Apart from the preaching part, its story part is also of no less importance. Lord Shri Ram is an embodiment of spiritual essence, to what extent can the glory of his most holy character be described?

The story of Shri Ramcharitmanas is more similar to the spiritual Ramayana than anything else. It seems clear from this that Shri Gauswami Tulsidasji has also accepted its authenticity the most.
